Rayne was born in Moscow, Russia. Her parents lived simple lives in the city, until her father died in a fire. Rayne’s mother was so shaken up by the event that she packed up the family and moved to the U.S. Rayne had been living with her mother in Tennessee, while her mother worked as a Secretary. Not to long ago, Rayne and her mother got in a fight; and her mother blamed Rayne for her father’s death. This caused Rayne to run off from home. While she travelled, she discovered her powers. Now, Rayne is working a mediocre fortune-teller as she travels south.

Rayne looked across the small table at her latest client. He was a taller man, with features that were sunken in with sorrow and grief. Rayne would almost feel sorry for him, but honestly she didn’t care about his problems. The man glanced up at her, “please… my wife recently died in a car accident… is there… is there anyway you could tell me where she is now…” the man said slowly, looking upwards to the sky at the end of his ‘speech’.
Rayne sighed, looking down at the table. She had set up a fake crystal ball, with a flashlight underneath. She didn’t know what it was, but people seemed more fascinated when there was a crystal ball involved. Under the table, Rayne flipped the switch, turning on the flashlight.
Closing her eyes, she moved her hands above the ball. Rayne could hear the spirits speaking to her. In her mind, she called out for the one that had relations with the man. Rayne opened her eyes, she could see a frail woman standing next to the man. The spirit looked at Rayne, and then smiled down on her husband. “Please tell him… I’ve gone on to Heaven… That should ease his soul…”
Rayne nodded to the spirit, before looking back at the man. “well? What is it?” he asked frantically. Rayne put on her best fake smile, “She’s in Heaven now, smiling down on you. She doesn’t want you to worry about her. She said to live your life to the fullest.” The man’s expression quickly changed, “Thank you! Oh thank you!” he said, standing up. Smiling the man, handed Rayne a twenty dollar bill. Afterwards, he walked away from Rayne’s makeshift table.
Rayne ran a hand through her blonde hair, watching as the man happily walked away. “It’s amazing how thick people can be…” she said to herself.
