A New Start

Dante walked up to the wrought iron gate, and slowly pushed it forward. The place looked exactly like what he had saw last night, except much more elegant and in much more detail. It was odd for Dante to have a vision that wasn't about death and despair; so he figured this place must be at least worth a look. As he stepped through the gate, he could see the lush green lawn and topiary that was placed nicely around the grounds. He looked up to the sky as he continued up the path towards the building. It was such a nice day; the sun was shining, birds were chirping merrily. Although off in the distance, Dante could see storm clouds. It would more than likely rain sometime in the next few days.

Dante opened up the door to the building, figuring that since it was a school it would seem odd to knock. even if I did knock... no one would probably hear it...' he thought to himself, as he looked around the foyer. Dante's gaze stopped on a door that looked like it would lead to a main office. He walked towards the door, and peered through the window in the door. With a shrug, Dante opened the door and stepped into the office. Dante stepped forward to the desk, and looked at the lady. He cleared his throat, and stood up straight "Excuse me, ma'am? Is this where I am to enroll at the school?" he asked, politely.

Susan, who had already pulled up the appropriate document thanks to the security cameras alerting her of the newcomer, looked up from the computer and smiled warmly at the boy. "Why, yes, it is." She closed out what she had been working on. "Name and age please? And don't worry about hiding anything, we're not the IRS or associated with the government, so if you're a runaway we won't turn you in. This is a refuge, not a police station."

He nodded slowly, wondering why she would say something like that to him. maybe she knows.... Dante mentally shook his head, there was no way the woman could know that he was runaway. It hadn't been long, and there would be no way for the American police to have found out. As far as anyone knew, Dante was at an elite English boarding school; not an American school for mutants. He cleared his throat."Dante Constantine, age seventeen." Dante responded politely.

"Pleasure to meet you; I'm Professor Susan." She quickly typed in the information before looking back up at the boy. "Would you mind telling me what you know of your abilities so far, or would you rather us find out throught observation?"

Dante nodded "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, professor." he said, kindly. He thought for a moment about her question. Did the others not speak of their powers? Dante took a deep breathe and closed his eyes momentarily, concentrating. He focused his mind, hoping to retrieve a vision. After failing, Dante sighed and proceeded to merely explain his abilities. "What I know so far, is that I can see into the near future. Although, my visions are random, and I have yet been able to see one willingly." he told her, choosing his words carefully to best explain.
