Powers: Photographic reflexes - After seeing someone perform an action once, he can perfectly copy the action, as long as he has the physical attributes necessary. For example, if he observed a backflip, and he was not strong enough or flexible enough to do a backflip, he would not be able to. However, as he does have the attributes necessary to perform a backflip, he can. To add to his abilities, when he is not busy, he watches television, allowing him to learn martial arts, swordsmanship, archery, and other abilities.
Voice mimicry - By listening to someone talk for a while, Perception can copy that person's voice, to such a close degree that he can fool even voice-activated locks. Due to his fairly deep voice, he finds it easier to mimic male voices rather than female. He can only hold a mimic for up to twenty minutes, and he says that it "takes a chainsaw to [his] throat" to hold it for much longer. If he can remember a voice, he can mimic it again, but he often has to practice before using it for real.
Fighting Styles
Explanation: Derek's fighting style is based around his use of a sword, and his copying of his opponent's movements and fighting style.
Pros: A very successful style as the opponent is less likely to attack someone who can mirror their movements.
Cons: Those with fighting styles that are illogical can surprise Derek, such as those who would rather take a punch than avoid it.

History
Derek was born into a privileged family, and as such was able to learn things such as Latin and Greek. His father was a politician whose career revolved around the Mutant Registration Act. In his teens, Derek began to realise he could copy reflexes. By watching a few games of pro football on TV, he became the school's star quarterback. On his victory, he believed his father would not freak out when Derek told him that he was a mutant. Thankfully, he waited until they got home, and then yelled at his son for being a mutant. Derek yelled back that it was not his fault, and if he was going to wreck his father's precious career, maybe he should leave.
Out in the real world, with nothing more than the clothes on his back, Derek entered an amateur fighting contest, using his powers to defeat the contestants, even those much stronger than him by copying their actions. With the money he won, he set up a gym where he would teach others how to fight.
Sample RP
Derek faced off against the much larger man. His opponent swiped the air with whistling blows. Perception's eyes didn't leave him for a moment.
Hold, Derek. Hold. Hold. The man's eyelids began to close.
Now! Derek shot forwards and delivered two powerful blows into the man's stomach, courtesy of Mike Tyson. The man sent a whistling punch directed at the mutant's face. Leaning back as far as he could, the punch whistled over his head. He'd seen the move in some film. Still moving, he lifted his feet up and landed on his hands, springing forward at the first opportunity, his feet colliding with the man's chest. Following the maneuver through, he pushed the man back and leaped over him in a graceful forward flip.
"I'll kill you!" The fighter yelled, charging at Derek. His quarry feinted to the right, then, the gorilla taking the bait, dodged to the right, dishing out a healthy kick to the back of the knee, and punched at his face. The man arced his body, Derek's punch missing by inches. Having watched the maneuver carefully, Derek filed it away in his mind for future use. The man lashed out, and the adaptive attacker dodged back, in an impressive acrobatic display of cartwheels, flips and rolls.
"Come on, Tiny, I thought cavemen were supposed to be strong!" With this statement, the massive monster yelled and charged, a blur of punches flying out, Derek dodging them with the grace of a ballerina. Quite literally.
"Funny thing about anger." The mutant said as he dodged the fist-filled air.
"It consumes you, makes you predictable." He became ready for his move, the one he had learned after many hours, just trying to see what happened.
"And pretty soon..." The man was dumbstruck as his opponent had managed to slip out of his line of sight.
"...you lose sight of everything." The man turned, just in time to receive a powerful punch to the face. The battered bruiser collapsed, finally having succumbed to his injuries. Derek turned to the small crowd.
"And that, children, is how one defeats a larger opponent."
