Yep, We're the Troublemakers

Taking a deep breath of the cool nighttime air, Sky couldn't help but smile, even if it was only a sad twitch in the corners of her mouth. Life had been so weird since her parents had been killed, and now that she was in a stable place, with her own bed, taking classes in rooms with a bunch of other Mutants, eating meals that aren't cooked over a fire or with chanting from tribal members in the background, everything just got that much more odd. But odd in a good way, an almost normal way.

Sky looked back to make sure Duncan and Loika were still the only other people who had followed her out. Luckily she didn't see anyone else, and hopefully it would stay that way. After a few minutes went by the Training House finally came into view. "Come on!" she whispered and quickened her step. In no time they were in front of the door. A keypad jutted out, the light glowing red. Quickly pressing the four-numbered code she remembered from earlier that day Sky hit enter. The light turned green after a couple seconds.

"Where do you guys wanna check out first?" she asked as they entered into the small lobby-looking area.

Loika set her pack down in a corner and stretched... well like a dog. Her tail wagged a couple times and she looked around. " Its kind of boring in here dont you think? Without someone here to scream orders at you i mean..." She sniffed around the room to make sure they were alone.

Duncan followed Loika and Sky outside. The moment he was out the door, he looked up to the nighttime sky. There were so many stars, more than he had ever seen back home. Duncan slowly walked after the two girls. He didn't see the point in running if no one saw them leave in the first place. As he finally caught up with them, he proceeded inside the Training House. "Impressive...." Duncan said quietly, taking a few steps forward. He stopped just a few feet away from Sky and looked over to her. "What all is there to check out?" He asked

Sky watched as Loika sniffed around, not being able to help wondering what it was like to be a dog. I wonder if they get flees, she thought, instantly being rewarded with the creepy-crawlies. Trying not to itch, Sky was glad when Duncan spoke. "Uh, well, there's the weight room, the track, I think they're working on room with training equipment like boxers use, and then the Danger Room." Part of her, well more like all of her, really hoped they would say the Danger Room. Ever since their lesson with Ghost she had been wanting to get in and practice using the fantasic equipment. But, it was up to the other two. If nothing else she could always get up early and sneak back in here, train with just herself...

Loika had been sniffing around the area and only really picking up the scent of death she had learned to identify with ghost. He had been here but not in the past few hours. His scent was getting old. She was still memorizing sky's scent... and she didnt want to learn duncan's scent, a least not yet. She wasnt sure if her "pack" was to get any bigger.

At the sound of Sky saying danger room, she felt her lips curl up over her teeth in a growl. The last time she had been in there Ghost had done a real number on her, both physically and to her pride.

Duncan shrugged, he didn't typically work out all that much. His powers weren't necessarily offensive, nor was he ever really sporty when he was younger. Duncan looked over to Loika, to see if she had any input. Though it seemed like something was bothering her, so Duncan turned back to Sky. "It doesn't really matter to me.... I'm fine with whatever you two choose....." He told her. Even if they chose something that Duncan wasn't comfortable with, he could always sit back and watch.

Stifling a sigh, Sky looked at the metal door that concealed the Danger Room. She was sure that if she used it Ghost would find out. Heck, he probably would find out that they had left the main building, but if she wouldn't mind taking he exra work out. She had been in plenty of odd or strenuous situtions while traveling with her parents. And if nothing else she wouldn't mind taking a double load to get Duncan or Loika out of trouble.

"Ok, let's head to the Danger Room." As she walked towards the door she turned back, and lowering her voice so only Loika could hear, said, "I know, but maybe if we practice more now we'll be able to make more of a stand next time we go up against him." Hoping that had helped a bit, Sky unlocked the door and stepped into the empty, metal lined room.

Loika pranced after Lyn like a nervous colt. She could feel all of her fur going up on end. They were going to get in trouble for being in here. Probably just as much trouble as she will be for attacking a human. The way ghost had looked at her earlier told her that ghost knew. What the heck she thought. She was already going to get in trouble so why not?

Duncan nodded, following Lyn and Loika into the Danger Room. He looked around the large, empty room. Duncan stopped near the doorway, and leaned against the wall. He looked over to the girls, "What exactly is the purpose of this room?" Duncan asked.

Sky shot an evil smile Duncan's way before continueing her search. "It's suppose to help train you in focussing and using you physical strength and strategy making skills instead of purely using your abilities." Nothing but smooth metal covered the walls. [i]Where could it-[i] "There!" she said, pointing to a small crack in the wall beside the door.

Running over, Sky moved her fingers slowly inside the crevice, her tips running against move metal. Sky took her hand out and hesitantly placed it against the small panel to the right. A small, hand-held box popped out. The touchscreen was filled with setting for custom courses. "So, what are we in the mood for tonight?" she asked the two as she stared at the screen.

loika shrugged and rolled her eyes. " Im guessing that you wont accept a long hit bath and a good sleep?" She was still a little moody from the day. Her muscles still tense and sore from the fight and such.

"Interesting...... A room that can do all that......" Duncan said, watching as Sky found the control panel. He slowly walked over to see the panel for himself. "I will do whatever you choose" Duncan said nonchalantly. He wasn't much of a decision maker. When he heard Loika's comment, he turned to face her. ".............are you alright?"

Loika looked over her shoulder at duncan and her ears went flat against her head. " It aint any of your business now is it. You are asking an aweful lot of questions. Get the hell off of my back" She moved around him in a somewhat aggressive stance. If they were gunna fight she was gunna be ready.

Sighing, Sky looked up. "Loika, if you need to go sleep than go up to our room, otherwise please just cool it." Sky hoped that the patience was thicker in her voice than the annoyance. Loika had been through quite a bit lately but the last thing she needed was a fight. She turned her attention back to the panel. "Ok, so I'm thinking a medium," push of the button, "obsactle course to start with." With the last choice the floor before them began to move. "This is going to be fun!"

Loika shook like a dog getting out of a bath and stretched. Her muscles were primed and ready to go. Her senses went on all high alert. She loved the feeling of being a little more than human. She liked the power her animal side gave her.

Duncan stood in place as Loika circled him. If it's one thing that Duncan had learned, never show your fear. Instead, he stood calmly with an emotionless look on his face. When he heard Sky address Loika, Duncan turned and took a few steps away from Loika. He nodded his approval to Sky, and waited for the session to take place.

Sky's face twitched into a grimace, not lasting long enough for anyone to really see. In one light it was kind of cool that everyone listened to her so easily, but in another it made her stomach churn. Her parents had let her have so much reign, often letting her decide on the next city they would get to visit. It had been her choice to return home. Her choice to tell her parents about her powers. And looked where they are now. Well, they were none existant.

A gripping chill ran down her back like running ice water, causing her to snap back to reality. The course had finally risen, and it didn't exactly scream 'MEDIUM'. "OK, so it looks like they let Ghost run loose with the programing, great." She offered Loika and Duncan an encouraging smile. "You guys ready?"

Loika nodded in to return to Sky's question. She wasnt a malicious person to begin with but she did enjoy it when Duncan walked away from her first. She had a small feeling of satisfaction like she had won. " Lets just do this thing..."

Duncan sensed the sudden change of emotion in Sky. He glanced over at her, noticing that she had quickly erased the outer emotion so that no one could see. He made a mental note to talk to her later, preferably without Loika in the same room. Duncan had no problem with her, but she seemed to dislike him. When he felt Loika's sense of satisfaction when he walked away from a fight with her, he confirmed that for whatever reason Loika didn't like him all that much.
Duncan sighed mentally, having to make another note to watch that Loika's distaste didn't progress to rapidly. He turned his attention to the room, which was completed. He nodded to Sky, "Ready...."

Sky grinned, the rush of adrenalin taking the center stage of emotions. The past didn't matter, not even the future (one that surely held her getting in serious trouble by Ghost) mattered. Right now all that mattered was the fact that she was about to find out how well she could survive Ghost's little tricks. "Let's go!"


Half an hour later they had finally crossed the finish line. It turned out that most of the obstacle weren't fully stable. On the rockwall some of the holds fell off, returned back into the wall, or were holograms. Three out of the five hooks holding up the climbing net broke, causing them to go lopsided. Hurdles jerked up suddenly as you tried to jump over them, grasping bars fell apart, wide ledges disappeared until there was only six inches left, and numerous other pranks were exhibited throughout the session. Luckily they all had some brains and started to pick up on it after about the third set.

Sky was sitting with her legs out and her head against the cold metal wall, trying to gain control over her breathing. "OK, so we know that Medium in Ghost's book is probably between Hard and Increased Hard." She looked over at Duncan and Loika. "How are we holding up?"

Loika laid on her side and panted heavily, her tongue flopped out of her muzzle. Her tail wagged a couple of thumps. " I think... i needed that... really. Ghost is going to kill me tomorow."She spoke between pants. Her rage seemed to be completely worked out.

Duncan leaned against the wall, and then slid down so he was sitting on the floor. He was breathing heavily, that was the most exercise he had done in a long while. Duncan looked over at the others. "........well that was........interesting.........." he said slowly.

After a second Sky burst out laughing, using up the last bit of breath she had. "Wow, we are going to be in so much trouble when Ghosts finds out!" She shook her head and stood up. They were all going to be sore tomorrow. sky made her way towards the door and jerked her head. "Come on, let's get out of here."

Loika jumped to her feet and trotted after Sky. She was carrying her pack along with her as she shifted back to her human form. Her nicely sculpted body was exposed for less than a minute before she started pulling on her clothes. " Im already in trouble with ghost. he didnt seem happy when he saw me." She spoke to sky and acted as if it didnt effect her at all that duncan had seen her birthday suit.

Duncan turned slightly, to avoid looking at Loika. He was somewhat used to such things, having grown up with three sisters and his mother. Although he didn't want to be disrespectful, so he waited a few moments before turning back around. Once everything was clear, he began following the girls out of the room.
